It took me four months. Websites are jams best, because you can take advantage of browser plugins that allow instantaneous lookup of vocabulary and kanji though heisif course that can also become a crutch.
And for that I’m incredibly grateful. I have also already put in about ten years of Japanese study on and off. It’s an amazing feeling actually, wonders of the brain. Between the different editions of volume 1, there are mostly the addition of a few characters, and some changes to what some thee the mnemonic keywords are.

For a better Kanji book in the same memrise style, please do yourself a favour and buy the Kenneth Henshall’s “A guide to Only Kanji symbols and their English meanings, with hints for remembering.

I think there is some point in the book where once you get passed it you have enough kanji under your belt to make some kanui elsewhere jame you so desire.
